Tanning is fashionable, but be careful of using wrong or even dangerous methods to tan your clients

There are two types of spray instruments.  The compressors, where you have a gauge to set the pressure and the High Volume Low Pressure or 'HVLP'.  The HVLP is a turbine, preset and approximately 2 psi.

At TanSpray we only use HVLPs because it is safe and easy to use.  As the psi (pressure) is so low the HVLP machine's blow the bronzing liquid onto the skin so gently that there is minimal "bounce back".  This means less TanSpray lotion is used and less is wated.

For your own prefessional care, and the customer's peace of mind, you will need a cubicle.

Just like machines, there are a number of diferent cubicles.  Some are very large, heavy and take a long time to set up.  The leading cubicle is the pop-up cubicle.

The pop-up cubicles is light-weight, takes seconds to pop up and fold away, perfect for both mobiles and salons.  Fortunately this is one of the lowest cost options as well as being the most convenient.

Many busy salons still use a pop-up cubicle because it is just so easy to use.

The spray tanning reaction is similar to how an apple goes brown when you take a bite from it and leave it.  The sugar and amino acids in the apple react with oxygen in the air and turns it brown.  The bronzing liquid you spray on to your customer contains an active sugar based ingredient, called DHA.  Combined with this, the amino acids on the skin and the oxygent in the air, turns the skin to a gorgeous golden brown tan, that will last at least 7 days.  Just long enough for that holiday on the beach, long enough for the bride to look extra radiant at her wedding, and for the teenage girl to sparkle at her year end function.

The bronzing liquid also contains a bronze "guide" colour to show the therapist where to spray.  This guide colour washes away to leave a gorgeous tanned skin.

Spray tan affects the top layer of your skin, hence lasting up to 7 days.

TanSpray spray tan bronzing lotions are available in 8 and 12 % DHA so there will be one to suit your customer's skin type.  The greater the percentage of DHA the darker it will turn your customer's skin.  As a rule use 12% for olive skins, and 8% for pale skins.  If you see an orange fake tan on someone, it is normally the result of too much DHA for the skinb type.  Definatelly not a TanSpray Product.

Better training is better for your customers, better for your busiess and better for you.....Sieze every chance to train, but make sure it is a good training course - you do not want to pick up bad habits!

Your charge to your client's will depend on your area, the lowest cost tends to be about R250 to R295 is adviseable.

Training is vital, and after that it is a case of practice, practise, practise, until you are perfect.  Some people need to do 10 bodies, others a few more.

When you first start probably 20 min or more.  But no need to worry, you will soon speed up with practise...remember to take you time, and give the perfect allover tan.

TanSpray bronzing lotion is packed in 1 litre bottles.  When you first start you will probably spray 10 - 12 bodies from a one litre, though with training and experience you can aim to get 15 - 17 sprays, depending on the size of the bodies you are spraying.

Once you have trained with TanSpray, you will  be entitled to use flyers, posters and postcards, leaflets from our vast selection of marketing material.  These are perfect for pinning on notice boards, droppin them through doors and handing them out.
